Additional informationParental Volunteer Opportunities
GCW cannot function without the help of parent volunteers. Volunteer Assistance is needed in the following areas: Governing Board Participation, Concert Assistance, Fundraiser Assistance, Monitors, monthly combined choir snacks and other areas that present themselves during the year. Please make us aware of your willingness to participate in the life of the GCW. Parent Expectations
As with any team, a great performance requires the participation of all its players. We function as a team, and each member is an integral part of the team through the music part they sing. As such, it is imperative that members arrive prepared, and on time to each performance. To be excused from a performance, members must notify GCW by email of anticipated performance conflicts at least two weeks before the scheduled performance date. GCW performs two main concerts, one at the end of each semester. They also often appear with the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra and sing for church services, especially in the churches that graciously donate rehearsal and music storage space. There are also other performances that benefit local charities, community events, retirement homes, etc. Communications Check the Calendar frequently and watch for e-mail/text message communications from the choir. Girls and parents with Facebook accounts are encouraged to join the private Facebook Group. It's a great place to share thoughts with members present and past. |
